Senior SEO Strategist

Job Description

StubGroup is a Premier Google Partner and fully remote digital marketing agency with team members working throughout the US and around the world. We are seeking a hands-on Senior SEO Strategist to own strategy and execution across a portfolio of client accounts.

This is a direct execution role — we want someone who does the work, not just recommends it. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with practical implementation across technical SEO, on-page optimization, local SEO, and content.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own SEO strategy and execution across technical, on-page, local, and content initiatives for assigned clients
- Conduct audits, keyword research, competitor analysis, and opportunity assessments
- Directly implement SEO improvements including title tags, meta descriptions, headings, and internal linking
- Identify and resolve technical issues such as crawling problems, indexation gaps, site structure issues, and schema
- Develop and oversee content planning with thoughtful integration of AI tools
- Track performance metrics and communicate findings to stakeholders
- Stay current on SEO algorithm updates and AI search developments

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years hands-on SEO experience in agency or multi-client settings
- Proficiency with GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs or SEMrush, and Screaming Frog
- Strong technical SEO expertise and proven direct execution capability
- Excellent written communication skills for both technical documentation and client reports
- Practical, thoughtful use of AI in SEO workflows
- Preferred: experience with local SEO, lead-gen, and ecommerce SEO
- Comfort working remotely during US business hours
